Stretch/Body Awareness Classes are for everyone! They are particularly good for those who are returning to movement classes or are recovering from injuries. Using stretch and movement techniques and melding them with energy medicine principles and exercises, this class helps students become profoundly aware of their bodies. By focusing deeply on individual muscles and joints, and their relationships, students gain an understanding of their bodies that will improve posture, increase flexibility, and create well-being. By the end of the class, individuals will feel like they have moved every part of their bodies and will enjoy a sense of calm, balance, and groundedness. Classes are approximately 1 hour long and students are reminded to modify any exercise or movement according to their own needs.

Check out December classes here!
December 2021 A: Sitting on the mat for most of the time, students will find this class a great workout. Using the legs, hips, and spine, the workout will activate the body through awareness of the body's core. By concentrating on movements that rely on the core for motivation, students build strength, flexibility, and agility. A good class for everyone! Modify as needed.
December 2021 B: This class borrows from the discipline of dance to help increase flexibility throughout the body. This class can be done with or without a mat as most of the work is done standing. A bit more challenging, all of the body receives an opportunity to become more flexible. Modify as needed.
December 2021 C: Think of this class as a gift to yourself! By employing crossing over techniques, the class will help to get your physical and energetic bodies in top operating condition. Staying on the floor for the entire class, each part of the body gets attention. Core work helps to increase stretches for the upper and lower spine as well as the hamstrings and inside thighs. You should feel elongated and refreshed by the end of the class! Modify as needed.
December 2021 D: Shorter but a bit more challenging, this class begins standing and then moves to the floor. Lengthening and increasing flexibility through positions that require attention to balance allows different areas of the body to get a strong focus. The use of a figure 8 pattern is echoed throughout the class. Modify as needed.
