Online Stretch & Body Awareness with Sheila Peters (November)

Stretch/Body Awareness Classes are for everyone! They are particularly good for those who are returning to movement classes or are recovering from injuries. Using stretch and movement techniques and melding them with energy medicine principles and exercises, this class helps students become profoundly aware of their bodies. By focusing deeply on individual muscles and joints, and their relationships, students gain an understanding of their bodies that will improve posture, increase flexibility, and create well-being. By the end of the class, individuals will feel like they have moved every part of their bodies and will enjoy a sense of calm, balance, and groundedness. Classes are approximately 1 hour long and students are reminded to modify any exercise or movement according to their own needs.

Each month, Dragonfly will make 4 classes available for unlimited use throughout the month. You will receive the links to the pre-recorded classes and can take them at your convenience as many times as you'd like. A link and description will be provided for each class.

November 2021 A: Twists, in many variations, are the theme for this class. Focused on floor work, the body opens up and releases tensions and blockages by utilizing the leverage of moving one part of the body in one direction and another part of the body in the opposite direction. The whole body will feel energized by this class. Modify as needed.

November 2021 B: This class begins standing, working large muscle groups to get the body warmed up. A shorter class, it is perfect for days when you have less time to exercise. Every part of the body gets attention! Modify as needed.

November 2021 C: Everything hips! This class begins and ends on the floor. We focus on the hips, finding many ways to open up any tight areas. We extend muscles that get contracted while sitting for many hours of the day and breathe abundant oxygen and blood flow into the area. The rest of the body receives lengthening and strengthening work as a result of the hip focus as well. Modify as needed.

November 2021 D: This class begins standing, focusing on opening up the shoulders, arms, torso, and spine. Gradually attention moves to the hamstrings and inner thighs. Using a sitting position on the floor, the class continues by working on the abs, hips, thighs and glutes area. The whole body is activated in this class! Modify as needed.
