Stretch/Body Awareness Classes are for everyone! They are particularly good for those who are returning to movement classes or are recovering from injuries. Using stretch and movement techniques and melding them with energy medicine principles and exercises, this class helps students become profoundly aware of their bodies. By focusing deeply on individual muscles and joints, and their relationships, students gain an understanding of their bodies that will improve posture, increase flexibility, and create well-being. By the end of the class, individuals will feel like they have moved every part of their bodies and will enjoy a sense of calm, balance, and groundedness. Classes are approximately 1 hour long and students are reminded to modify any exercise or movement according to their own needs.

Each month, Dragonfly will make 4 classes available for unlimited use throughout the month. You will receive the links to the pre-recorded classes and can take them at your convenience as many times as you'd like. A link and description will be provided for each class.

October 2021 A: Stretch/Body Awareness Class with Sheila Peters
Using a chair, this class demonstrates multiple stretches for the whole body. This class includes some unique ways to target specific spots in the body that are often hard to activate while standing or sitting on the floor. This is a great alternative if you are looking for something new as an exercise routine. Modify as needed.
October 2021 B: Stretch/Body Awareness Class with Sheila Peters
Students will feel thoroughly stretched out by the end of this class, although the journey is gentle and slower paced. Spine, legs, hips, abdominals, and arms all get a chance to lengthen and open, releasing any held tension and blocks. Modify as needed.
October 2021 C: Stretch/Body Awareness Class with Sheila Peters
Legs, legs, legs! This class focuses on the legs starting with the hips and feet and moving into deeper flexibility challenges for the hamstrings and inner thighs. Strength building comes with leg lifts to the front, sides, and back. Modify as needed.
October 2021 D: Stretch/Body Awareness Class with Sheila Peters
In this challenging class, the whole body gets a workout. Starting in a standing position, the class gradually works towards the floor. The spine, legs, arms, hips, and feet each receive strong focus. Modify as needed. Modify as needed.
