Lynn is a trailblazer in caregiver wellbeing, serving as the first and only Caregiver Wellbeing Specialist at UMass Memorial Health Medical Center. In this pioneering role, she provides comprehensive wellness services and unwavering support to caregivers (employees) across the organization, no matter their role. In addition to her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology (Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy), Lynn is also a seasoned stress management educator of 40 years, as well as a Certified Health & Wellness Coach specializing in Lifestyle Medicine. Her expertise extends into holistic therapies, holding certifications as a Reiki Master Teacher, ‘M technique’ (hand massage) Instructor, Prepare for Surgery/Heal Faster Facilitator, and Laughter Yoga Leader.

Lynn is particularly proud of her instrumental role in establishing and growing the Simonds-Hurd Complementary Care Center at HealthAlliance Hospital from 2010-2018, part of the UMass system. Through her dedication and vision, she secured grants that enabled cancer patients at the Simonds-Sinon Cancer Center to receive holistic therapies—such as acupuncture, massage, yoga, and Reiki—at no cost during their treatments. Under her leadership, numerous programs expanded to inpatient care, empowering patients to request services independently, including hand massage and Reiki. Her passion for integrative medicine has led her to speak at nursing and cancer symposiums and conferences, advocating for the profound benefits of holistic therapies in oncology care and the importance of practicing self-care for resilience.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Lynn finds joy and balance in her personal life. Whether spending quality time with her husband of 35 years or captivating audiences as a vocalist in three bands across Central Massachusetts, she lives by the same wellness principles she passionately shares with others.

Lynn looks forward to teaching Reiki refresher courses, Reiki Levels I, II, Master and Master Teacher with possibility of Master of Masters level, as well as workshops on a variety of Stress Management topics at Dragonfly.
